Joshy Willo & The Kingfishers Vinyl

A$50.00

There's something magical about vinyl. The large cover artwork. The tactile feel of holding it in your hands. The mindful and gentle removal of the record from its cover, draws you into the moment. The ritual-like placing of the record onto the turntable. The ceremonial lowering of the needle... and then... warmth... analogue, authentic, natural vibrations... sound that has soul. This is my first release on vinyl. And looking back now, it was a forgone conclusion that my path would lead me here. I love "real" recordings. Recordings with the human element still well and truly, and unapologetically present. From my very spontaneous maybe rustic way of letting a song reveal itself. To recording to tape at Mixmasters Studios in Hawthorndene. Analogue recordings encourage a compromise between real and digitally perfect. For me perfection is somewhere in that grey area. The "human", the "realness" is somewhere in that grey area. Something I didn't expect was those recording periods to tape(analogue) have helped me to accept myself as a musician and human. Imperfections can actually become beautiful. And humans are imperfection personified. So from recording to tape, to presenting the recordings on vinyl was a very natural progression. All in the desire to create and present the very best work that I can produce. And none of it would have been possible without all the talented people who blessed this work with their enthusiasm, empathy, love and energy. I am proud of what we have achieved. And whether its a brief escape to a tropical island in your mind or helping you release, express or feel emotions that are relevant to your present reality... I hope the music improves your day. And helps you heal and feel human.
