Joshy Willo & The Kingfishers CD
You've probably noticed by now I have a bit of a bird theme going on. Kestrels on the last album. Kingfishers on this one. I had cared for unwell Nankeen Kestrels in the past. Unsuccessfully, sadly. Wing injuries is usually terminal.... Anyway.. Kingfishers... When I was reaching a period in the creation of this album, tidying up lyrics, writing the last couple songs that would allow me the number I required to make the album, I saw Kingfishers on multiple occasions. Sacred Kingfishers specifically. And they always brightened my day or triggered me into a brief buzz of excitement. The first one was in my driveway when I returned home from work oneday... a few sitting on powerlines here and there in Elliston, the town where I live... and then another when I was walking in a gorge in Tjoritja (The West MacDonnell Ranges), a month or two later. So I took the hint and decided they were the next bird for the new album.
